I'm a Little Robot is a song about Squeaky and her constant efforts to stay positive daily despite being severely damaged. Diesel joins in towards the last few verses. It first appeared on An Afternoon with Johnson and Friends. It was later performed in Dinosaur Tracks and made into a music video on Songs from the Toybox using clips from the aforementioned episode.
The song was performed by Angela Toohey as Squeaky and Doug Scroope as Diesel, with music by Chris Neal and lyrics by John Patterson.
Lyrics
Verse 1
I'm a little robot
One wheel squeaks
My feelers are both broken
My battery acid leaks
There's a band aid on my panel
My paint's a little peeled
But I'm guarding Michael's bedroom while he's sleeping.
Verse 2
I'm a little robot
One arm's bent
I used to have a ray gun
I don't know where it went
My lights have all stopped flashing
My head is falling off
But I'm guarding Michael's bedroom while he's sleeping.
Verse 3
I'm a little robot
I've lost one ear
My siren has stoped blaring
I'm stuck in second gear
My motor's making noises
My tyres have no tread
But she's guarding Michael's bedroom while he's sleeping.
Verse 4
I'm a little robot
I've come apart
My levers are all missing
Sometimes I'm hard to start
But I'm brave and not withstanding
Michael's games are often rough
She's guarding his big bedroom while he's sleeping
My motor's making noises
My tyres have no tread
But I'm guarding Michael's bedroom while he's sleeping.
Trivia
- The song was cut down in both its episode appearance and music video, most likely due to the content of some of the lyrics, as well as the fact that Diesel sings the last lines of the final two verses, not to mention time constraints.
- In both video versions, Angela Toohey's vocals have been edited to feature a "robot" effect, in order to fit in with the character's television lines.
